Rapid Development Cycles

In 2018 onwards Epigem was selected to assist a major worldwide supplier of detection technology in the preparation of a case for funding of work to detect and identify pathogens in the air of an urban environment.

Following the successful award of a contract for the work, the company again approached Epigem, this time to design and supply microfluidic systems to interface between their van-based air sampling instruments and the separate analytical detection system.

Epigem’s extensive experience in this area allowed us to rapidly understand the customer’s requirements and adapt their initial designs to match our manufacturing processes, whilst maintaining the desired functionality. By prototyping several iterations over a short three-week timescale’ we were able to rapidly produce products that met all aspects of the initial design brief. We were able to provide connected sub-units to create one very large functioning unit.
